WARNING: This post could upset those with a sensitive disposition! I am in a bad mood today and it's got nothing to do with the heat!

I was with a new shirt customer yesterday who had just about had it with cheap off the peg shirts. He had tried to get some of his shirts altered following weight loss and to his horror, the seamstress told him she couldn't adjust them because the seams weren't sewn. They were GLUED TOGETHER. "WTF?" I hear you exclaim - yep you heard me right.

A smart casual dress code opens up a huge variety of options. It also causes a lot of concern and confusion for many men - the majority of us know how to dress down (jeans and tee shirt), or dress up (suit, shirt and tie)... but that bit in between is a like the Bermuda Triangle for many who just don't know where to start.

A perfectly tailored suit ought to be a piece of everyone's wardrobe, regardless of whether you are a man or woman. A lot of organizations want their employees to dress with respect to a particular dress code, usually a type of business suit. A valid reason why businesses prefer their workers to adhere to a more formal dress code is the representatives of the company are exactly that: representatives of the company! And most business want to appear to be at the very least competent and confident.

I finally caught the enjoyable Guy Ritchie "reboot" of classic TV Series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring our very own Henry Cavill as Napoleon Solo.

I fear it won't get a sequel because the box office return wasn't so great by today's blockbuster standards, but I did like his outfits. Actually through the whole film there were only three suits. (The second blue plaid was recycled sans jacket for the last part of the movie), but here they are - fodder for your 2016 wardrobe wish list.

I am always very honoured and proud to take care of couples for their big day, but none more so than Rick Guy and Courtenay Hamilton on their wedding day in September.

Being a black tie theme I decided with Rick that the Casino Royale style tuxedo, single breasted, black, one button coat with peak lapels would work best with his very athletic frame.

Here are the results - Courtenay looked absolutely stunning and Rick was the perfect complement to her on the day. They're a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness and all the love in the world for the future.

This weekend we are in Christchurch for the wedding of a very dear client and friend. I was really excited to be dining at The Jetty last night, especially as my wife is a massive seafoodie and I'd seen great reviews.
