From Tailoring to Trackside: A Day at Goodwood

Last Sunday, I found myself in the passenger seat of a Ferrari 296 GTB, weaving our way out of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Not just any Ferrari, mind you - this one belongs to Box3 Motorsport, and at the wheel was none other than Petro Bolah, Box3’s co-founder and a good friend of both the show and the Roberto Revilla London studio.

We recorded this special episode of Tailoring Talk Magazine from inside the car - carbon bucket seats, screaming engine, creaky panels and all. It was a sensory overload and one of the most unique interviews I’ve ever done.

VIP Vibes at Goodwood

This was my first time at the Festival of Speed, and it did not disappoint. Thanks to Rolls-Royce Hospitality, Petro and I had VIP access - not just to Rolls, but also to McLaren and Ferrari. From hand-mixed cocktails to panna cotta we networked, pressed the flesh, and soaked in some serious automotive inspiration.

Shout out to the real winners of the day: the caterers at McLaren, Harissa & Lemon who were absolutely sensational.

The Rise of Box3 Motorsport

Petro and I last spoke in April, just before Box3’s first full-on track day at Silverstone. Since then, the growth has been meteoric.

“We’re pretty much fully booked,” Petro shared. “We had to open up Bedford, Thruxton, Brands Hatch... even Snetterton. There’s one date left at Silverstone, but otherwise we’re booked solid.”

What makes Box3 unique is its hybrid model: combining professional motorsport with track tuition. Clients don’t just get to watch, they get to drive. And for sponsors, it’s not about slapping a logo on a car; it’s about immersive experiences, client hospitality and real business development.

And it’s working. In their rookie year, Box3 is leading the Britcar Championship. And if all goes to plan, next season it’s on to the GT Cup, with Le Mans and Ferrari Challenge firmly in their sights.

Craftsmanship, Connection and Crossroads

As the Ferrari’s engine burbled behind us, we got reflective. Both Petro and I are experiencing big shifts in our respective businesses. For Box3, it’s the transition from passion project to professional racing team. For Roberto Revilla London, it’s about returning to our roots - no compromise on materials, craftsmanship, or customer experience.

What struck me most during our conversation was how bespoke tailoring and motorsport aren’t as far apart as they seem. Both industries hinge on precision, personalisation, and passion. Whether it’s a custom three-piece suit or a purpose-built GT race / track car, the goal is the same: deliver performance and elevate experience.

A Ferrari That Decides Its Own Mood

Not everything was perfect. The Ferrari 296 GTB might sound glorious at full tilt, but it’s got quirks - temperamental air-con, squeaky carbon seats, and enough road noise to ruin any podcast mic.

But that’s the charm, right? It’s a Ferrari. It doesn’t care what you think. It knows it’s the star.

Building Legacies

As traffic built up and we crawled our way back to Petro’s home, I found myself deeply inspired. Box3 isn’t just racing cars, they’re racing towards a vision of what modern motorsport can be: accessible, immersive and commercially smart.

We talked about legacy clients, evolving product lines and how both our brands are chasing excellence without compromise. And we agreed on one thing: watch this space. Big things are coming, on the track, in the tailoring workroom and beyond.
